Messaging, also referred to as “texting”, is the ability to exchange messages between two peers. These peers can be mobile phones, texting applications, and automated applications. Messaging comes in two flavors:

SMS (Short Message Service) – Messages containing only text. No pictures or other multimedia attachments are supported. Some “emoji” characters are supported however.

MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) - The ability to send multimedia content as well as text. With MMS, we can send:

Audio Files
Video Files
And support group messaging (three or more recipients)
